Some days writing stuff is really challenging. The old "blank page syndrome" really gets me down. That’s been the theme of my day today. It’s Friday and somehow the words aren’t exactly flowing. But I’ll persevere.
In other news, maybe my brain cramp is some residual lethargy from my evil cold. This week, I emerged from my bout of illness. After being a complete blob for days, on Monday my sinuses finally decided the cold was over. It was weird. Most of the time, getting and losing a cold is gradual. This one hit me and left really quickly. I’m still somewhat snuffly, but much better.
It seems like the new year has brought a tremendous increase in the level of "unsolicited e-mail" (i.e., spam). Everyone I know is being bombarded with endless garbage in their e-mail boxes. Even with extensive e-mail filtering, I keep getting really revolting message about products that will enlarge various body parts I don’t possess. It’s just getting really tiresome.
Speaking of online annoyances, a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I downloaded and installed a utility called Pop-Up Killer. Well, I can report that it really does work as advertised. It does a great job of zapping all those stupid pop-up ads that appear when you surf the Web.
If anyone has any leads on an equally good tool to nuke the spam, please let me know. My e-mail program’s filtering feature is getting very, very tired.
