Happy Cinco de Mayo! Here in North Idaho, the weather has been so glorious, it’s made it much more difficult to motivate for tedious activities like work. In fact, last night I was at a class and someone pointed out that the unfortunate need to earn money really gets in the way of our fun.
I had to agree. Last Saturday, both James and I had to work to meet a deadline. I was working on the online help for a software product we are developing, and James was working on the product itself. Anyway, we took a break in the morning to go into town and do our errands.
It was gorgeous out. I saw a man buying a huge flat of petunias at the store and thoughts of tending my own garden flowers danced in my head. Unfortunately, it was not to be, because when we got back, we had to buckle down and get back to work.
We slaved away all day Saturday and vowed that we would get everything we planned finished on Sunday. When I woke up the next morning, I was greeted with snow falling outside the window.
I thought about the man with that big flat of petunias and wondered how the poor unsuspecting plants fared that day. I am not amused by snow in April, but on a positive note, it made me more willing to stay inside and finish my online help project.
Having now finished our software, it’s out of our hands and in testing for Microsoft Platform Certification. This weekend, I plan to clean off the back deck and put in the screens. I am determined that work is not going to get in the way of my relaxing this weekend. Here’s hoping the weather cooperates too!
