Okay, so I survived the Follies. Actually it was a huge amount of fun. And it’s for charity. The Angels Over Sandpoint do the Follies to raise funds so they can give out scholarships and donations to local charitable organizations.
And to prove to people who know me that yes, I really did have the guts to go on stage and make a total and complete fool of myself, here is pictorial proof.
I am on the left and Janine is on the right. We were backup singers for the “Queen” (aka Kate, the hostess of the show).
The song was derived from the old Steve Martin King Tut skit…we were singing “Queen Kate” instead.
Grooving on a few Egyptian moves.
Me looking highly relieved that my two minutes of fame is over.
Me modeling my fine cape made from a $1 remnant that I got at a thrift store. My costume (including shoes) cost me $11.
I even LIKE the shoes (sandals really) and will probably wear them a lot this summer.
Note that this was the first time I’d been on any stage since 6th grade. I was utterly terrible, which will probably be disturbing to see on the DVD.
But it was still fun 😉
