Okay, today’s big news is that Logical Tips was mentioned in USA Today as one of their Hot Sites:

(They change the opening page frequently, so our link has now moved off to the archives.)
In any case, welcome to all our new subscribers 😉
This type of big attention doesn’t happen to me very often, so I naturally had to tell all my family and friends. I got a lot of excited and congratulatory e-mails back, many with what one friend terms "MLM punctuation." (For those who don’t get as much e-mail as I do, MLM stands for Multi-Level Marketing.) I was amused because I knew exactly what she was talking about.
If you’ve ever received e-mails about questionable marketing schemes, you know that they are often filled with a lot of exclamation points and question marks all in a row. (Yes I mean those canned pork product e-mails we can’t really name because it would set off everybody’s e-mail filters.)
In the minds of these senders, the most exciting sentences apparently rate three or four punctuation marks at the end. I suppose the hope is that all those exclamation points will really, really get your attention. (If one is good, well gee, four must be GREAT.)
The problem is that this trick is totally cheesy. In an e-mail from someone you know, you can envision the person’s excitement, so the added punctuation really does add emphasis. But in an e-mail from some random company you don’t know, it’s just more hype and gunk you have to filter through to get to something else.
Thank goodness for the Delete key.
