This afternoon, we went out on our first cross-country ski adventure of the season. We skied across our meadow and then up into the forest, which required more effort than I probably would have ideally liked to expend on the first trip out.
My legs are not going to thank me later. They have that sort of rubbery feeling you get after skiing. That tired feeling generally degenerates into pain by the next morning. I think tomorrow will not be a very ambulatory day.
Of course, all this activity was not lost on the canines who expressed their displeasure at being left in the kennel while we were out having fun. Leia did her trademark "mad woof" which is three short woofs in a row. Over and over again. (Mad woofing is a monotonous thing.)
To appease the grumpy furry team, after we got back, we put on snowshoes and took them out for their walkie. They bounded, cavorted, sniffed, dug, snuffled, and basically had themselves a good old time.
So I think *everybody* will sleep well tonight 😉
