This weekend, I think I need to spend some quality time just plotting. Like most people who run a business, we have a lot of different things happening. And I’m starting to feel really scattered. Today, I finished up a project, but I didn’t feel a great sense of accomplishment because so much more needs to be done. It feels like I just have so much to do, I don’t know what to do next.
The main problem is that I do a lot of work for Logical Expresssions, Inc. itself, in addition to doing work for outside clients. I create a lot of our content, which includes writing, Web designs, graphic design, marketing collateral, ebooks, and so forth. We have a lot of business ideas that are in the works and sometimes it feels like I’m not getting anywhere on them. This can be depressing.
Here at LEI, when we have a lot projects like this, we often say that it’s "time to listify." In other words, this weekend, I need to spend some quality time just writing stuff down. I find that when I don’t have a list written down with priorities, I just sort of stare at my monitor wondering what to do next. There’s so much to do, it’s hard to figure out what to do first.
As soon as I write down plans for all the projects we have in the works, my stress level usually drops. But I sometimes wait too long to stop and regroup. Once I’ve finally reached the conclusion that it’s time to listify, it must *really* be time to listify.
