I have to admit that it’s been a slow week here. We basically took Monday off as an unofficial holiday and then Tuesday really was a holiday here in the U.S., so we went kayaking and had ourselves a good time.
Readjusting back into the rest of the work week has been somewhat of a challenge. The weather is glorious and my computer is slowly driving me insane. Unfortunately, although my new computer is fast and seems to work great, there is something terribly wrong with the case. It never shuts up.
At first I thought the left side was just loose. Of course, that is the side that doesn’t come off, but we improvised a little and I put a small piece of carpet foam in the spot that seemed like it was vibrating the most. It sort of worked for a while.
But the buzzing noise returned. So we formulated a new theory that maybe the front plastic frame around the CD and DVD drives might be vibrating. I dutifully pulled the machine apart again and stuffed some foam around the plastic frame too.
Again, the fix sort of shut up the computer briefly. But now the case is buzzing again. Our latest theory is that the new, fancy-dancy video card I put into it creates some kind of extra vibration inside the machine. I’m not quite sure what I can do about that. I am sure that the noise is driving me nuts.
So if there are reports of a woman running screaming out into her back yard and heaving a computer down the hill, well that’s probably me.
