As all of you know, this week after four years of sending out Logical Tips using our own e-mail system, we finally embarked on the big switcharoo and imported our list of names into a new system. If you’re reading this, you were successfully added to the list. Or you’re new to Logical Tips, in which case, welcome! The newsletter goes out every Friday pretty much without fail. If you don’t get it, let me know.
The thing that’s great about this new arrangement is the amount of information I can get about Logical Tips. Reading through the list of people who have rejoined is like "old home week" with a LOT of email addresses I recognize.
Most of you probably don’t realize how often I hear from Logical Tips readers, but in general they’re a vocal group; I regularly exchange emails with a lot of our readers. In any case, it’s warms my heart see all these virtual old friends rejoining. If you know other people who haven’t rejoined or folks who would enjoy this newsletter, please pass it on. (They’ll get the keyboard shortcuts PDF when they subscribe too.)
Even though the total size of the list of folks I’m sending to has dropped considerably, I’m sort of relieved to know that the people who are now on the list really want to be here. Because of technological limitations with our old system, I could never tell if people ever really got our newsletters. Now I can. Plus, no one can sign up without clicking that extra confirmation link, so it’s much safer for readers too.
In far less nerdy news, I have to give a huge public kudos to Shutterfly. I’ve mentioned the company before because they have printed our photo Christmas cards for the last couple of years. They generally send the cards using regular USPS snail mail. This year, our cards didn’t make it here, possibly due to theft or loss.
Whatever happened, it wasn’t my fault and I was really depressed about it, since I had ordered a lot of cards that I was going to send to my clients, family, and friends. I called Shutterfly customer service and they actually overnighted the reprint to me. They didn’t charge me for the reprint and even sent it UPS, so it could be tracked. Now that’s customer service!
The cards arrived yesterday, so yes, my cards will be going out this year after all 😉
