This week we did our second radio show. The topic was computer education: "Now that I have this computer how do I learn how to use it?" So, we talked about various local options, online training, and computer-based training (CBT). This topic was especially near and dear to us because over the last few years we’ve spent a lot of our extra time writing and publishing information on how people can get more out of their computers. In fact, we realized that the radio show itself is yet another way to get free information on the subject out to the community. The folks at the radio station changed the broadcast time, so now we are on at 4 pm, the third Wednesday of the month on stations KSPT and KBFI.
In less nerdy news, we also finally went skiing for the first time this season at Schweitzer (http://www.schweitzer.com), the local ski resort. The conditions were really outstanding. The day we went, it was sort of sunny, the slopes were well groomed, and we weren’t completely awful in terms of our ability to stay upright.
It was a new experience for us, since we are accustomed to being sort of embarassingly bad skiers. (We’re the folks that the black diamond crowd snickers at.) But this year, it was almost like we picked up where we left off in terms of our skills. We aren’t starting over for a change.
Sure, we still won’t be winning any awards for our fine skiing form, but I have to say that skiing is really a lot less scary when you aren’t constantly worrying about seriously damaging various important body parts.
