Today we have been blessed with many inches of snow and Cami, the furry white dog, is one happy camper. And the humans in the household have started setting the "thaw out alarm." Cami has a unique ability to eat vast quantities of snow. It looks like she’s just playing out there and it doesn’t seem like she’s inhaling gallons of frozen water, but apparently she is. After all that snow consumption, if you don’t let her outside promptly, badness ensues. So we set a timer. An hour after Cami has romped profusely in the snow, the alarm goes off so we can give her that all important thaw-out outing.
In much more nerdy news, Logical Tips has been accepted into Tech Support section of the FreeTechMail site (http://www.freetechmail.org/infobase.asp?TPubId=194). The site lists certain computer-related ezines and lets people post reviews. So if you like Logical Tips, please post a review and share the joy.
But our most huge, exciting news of the week is that after much work, editing, and a wee bit of HTML pain on my part, James’ new ebook is available! Web Business Success: The Logical Guide to Doing Business on the Web is located at http://www.webbusinesssuccess.com. This book has all the information we’ve been telling our clients for years on how to create a usable business site. It also demystifies confusing stuff like domain name services, shopping carts, and payment gateways.
In addition to the book, the site also has a free case study you can download. James interviews Dan Eskelson of Clearwater Landscape Design (http://www.clearwaterlandscapes.com). Dan makes a living from his Web site, which has a tremendous amount of information about landscaping and lots of neat tools. Even though Dan is not a programmer (or any other type of nerd), he educated himself on good site design and important other online principles. All this work really shows on his site, which is easy to navigate and use. As James says, Dan is the guy we always think about when we think about someone who actually did a site *right.*
Anyway, Web Business Success is the first in a series of "logical" ebooks that we’re working on and we’re excited about it. Here’s hoping that other people like it too 😉
