Looking Back at Summer

Because the weather hasn’t exactly been conducive to photography, we’re going to take advantage of some of the great photos our readers submitted this summer that we weren’t able to use for one reason or another. (Generally, our photos are of the last week, but in this case you can tell they aren’t!)

Fault Lake
Sandpoint Insider reader, hiker and avid photographer Betsy Fulling took this shot. She says of the hike:

"There were huckleberries on the Fault Lake Trail…amazing! They had been frozen and  defrosted so many times because it is so cold up on there…they just about exploded when you picked them. We ate a bunch!"

Mt. Pend Oreille
Another one from Betsy. She says:

"The Mt Pend Oreille trail begins at Lunch Peak. The Lunch Peak Lookout is rented out by the forest service by the day, night or weekend and maybe even for longer…inside is a picnic table and that’s all. It’s tight quarters. Outhouse down the hill and there is a fire ring there too. You’re on your own for the most part. Views are outstanding."

Packsaddle Mountain
From Betsy Fulling again. She says:

"This is from the Packsaddle Mt Trail. To get there you head over to Clark Fork and ‘hang a right’! Long ride on a not so great road."

Kayaking with My Dog
Sandpoint Insider reader Carrie King sent this photo of her kayaking with her very large dog. (Personally, I’m wondering how she got him in there without getting soaked!)

See you next week!
