Well, it’s quarter after 6 on a Friday evening, so my brain is basically shutting off. When it comes to writing, I’m a morning person. Caffeine is my friend and my one cup of coffee in the morning helps my writing ability. But after 5 pm, my get up and go is gone. Long gone.
This week, it seemed like I didn’t get as much done as I might have liked, partly due to a small canine emergency on Wednesday. Our little white dog Cami (http://www.pet-tails.com/LPMIssue.asp?ISI=22) had a problem early EARLY in the morning. I woke up at 2 am to some rather unpleasant sounds being emitted from Cami’s corner of the world. After cleaning that up, I went back to sleep. Cami didn’t.
She obviously wasn’t feeling good and after the morning outing, James detailed her various problems. I consulted my vet book, which said I should "contact veterinarian immediately." Uh oh. My regular vet was closed because they were volunteering at the ski resort for the Special Olympics. Fortunately, I have a back up vet. (Okay, more than one, but this one is my favorite.) Anyway, I talked to her and the clinic and hustled Cami into the car for the big journey.
It was a long trip made longer because I was fretting about the dog in the back seat the whole time. But after careful examination, it turns out Cami had a nasty bladder infection, which was apparently so painful that it caused her other problems. So Cami got a big shot of antibiotics from the vet and a big hug from me.
By nightfall, after a really big nap, Cami was pretty much her normal self. I didn’t get much accomplished that day, but sometimes you gotta realize that there are things way more important than work and computers.
