About a year ago, we switched the email service that sends out our ezines. For the most part it works well. However, one aspect of the switch is that it includes a field that lets people put in comments when they decide to unsubscribe from a newsletter.
Most people don’t bother adding a comment, and those that do tend to include something reasonably low key. People say they are too busy, get too much email, or whatever. I tend not to read them because hey, you can’t please everybody and it’s often just a downer to find out someone doesn’t like your writing. Who needs that?
But occasionally, I’ll sort of accidentally see one of these little notes as it flies by through my email. Recently, I got one that said they didn’t want the newsletter because “it’s not what I expected based on the name logical.”
Leading me to wonder, gee, what DID she expect?
I mean all over the Web site where you sign up, we say it’s computer tips from a company called Logical Expressions. Hence the name Logical Tips. Sure the musings may not be particularly logical, but the tips usually are.
In fact, I tend to think the newsletter is more logical than that comment. Oh and this probably won’t come as a great surprise, but I’m really glad it’s Friday.
