Today is the first day we’ve seen Mr. Sun in what seems like ages. I was starting to feel like a mushroom. After two months of brilliant sunshine, October has been mighty dismal. On a positive note, last weekend’s torrential rain did make it easier to stay inside and get some work done. But I have to say that the aspen look a lot prettier in the sunlight.
This week we spent some time going to meetings and helping to prepare for a Business and Technology Expo that will be happening here in Sandpoint on Tuesday, October 30. The expo is being put on by the Bonner Education Technology Alliance (BETA), which is a group we’ve been involved with for a while. BETA’s mission is to bring more educational opportunities and high-speed Internet service into this area. The expo will be an opportunity for the community to find out what BETA has been up to and meet a number of the technology vendors in this area (including us). James will be the moderator of a panel that will discuss options for implementing high-speed Internet and he also will present a workshop on e-commerce. (Check out www.bonnereta.org for more info on the event.)
In other mildly techie news, after much consideration and research, we finally switched our e-mail provider. Bye bye Earthlink!. And good riddance. It’s such a liberating feeling to know that when I attempt to dial out, I *won’t* get a busy signal. Whee!
