This week, I’ve done a tremendous amount of reading about book marketing. It feels like the information is just oozing from my pores. I’m a member of many book marketing lists and I’ve bought lots of books on creating and marketing books. Sometimes it all feels overwhelming.
On the other hand, it feels like the right thing to do. I’ve been writing for a long time and I feel somewhat compelled to publish a lot of this stuff in book format so it can reach a somewhat different audience. Writers seem to have a compulsion to get their words out to the masses. Plus, a book is a great way to promote yourself as an expert.
Some of the best information I’ve received about all this actually not cost anything. This week, I got a preview copy of a book about selling on Amazon.com, which I’ve been enjoying. It was one of those rare moments where the information you need just kind of lands in your lap.
A few years ago, I had similar opportunity when I attended a teleseminar about how business owners can use books and infoproducts to attract new clients and generate multiple streams of income. It’s an appealing concept and is part of the reason we’ve been moving our business toward doing more publishing. The presenter, John Eggen is offering a similar 70 minute teleseminar again on Monday 8/28 at 5:00pm PST (8:00pm EST). It doesn’t cost anything to attend (except the cost of the phone call) and you can ask questions.
Not everyone has the same compulsion to get words out to the masses. But if you do, the price is right for this teleseminar 😉
