Four hound faces are staring over the baby gate that leads to my office. It’s dinner time and the canine team is hoping that I’ll notice that clearly they are starving. So I’d better make this quick. The natives are getting restless, as they say.
Today, after days and days of rain, the sun has finally come out. So when I ran the all-furry team around the forest, they had lots of big fun throwing Cami into the dirt. (Naturally the white dog hits the dirt the most.) But it’s her own fault. Cami loves to play so much that she’ll take on both Leto and Leia at the same time. In the canine world, if you taunt others, they’ll retaliate. Everyone knows that; it’s just part of the game.
After all that stomping, I threw the tennis ball for them in the kennel to tire them out even more. You’d think they’d be really exhausted by now after all that activity.
But the prospect of food keeps everyone alert and seeking dinner. Eight eyes staring at me over the baby gate don’t lie.
