Today’s Tales from the Mousepad focuses on organization. It’s a timely article since this week I have been dealing with other people’s endless disorganization and e-mail failures. I am reminded of that old saw that says, "poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part." (Or something along those lines.)
Of course, even though I may be thinking that, I wouldn’t ever say it. In the end, poor planning on their part all too often does become an emergency on my part. (This type of thing is what I get paid for, after all.) So did I meet the deadline? Yes. Do I have a raging headache now? Yes.
Actually my raging headache may have more to do with the weather than deadlines. Over the last week or so, it’s been really sunny and dry. Last night, the weather took a dramatic nosedive and it’s been pouring rain all day. You can practically see the weeds in the yard growing. Often when the weather changes dramatically like this, I get a headache that just won’t go away.
Anyway, it’s supposed to rain all weekend, which probably isn’t such a bad thing. I have so much stuff I need to catch up on because I spent most of today dealing with the dreaded deadline and taking ineffectual ibuprofen.
Since looking at my monitor makes my head hurt even more, I’m going to keep this short. I’ll try and be more lucid next week 😉
