Weeks with big national holidays in the middle of them are always confusing. Here it is Friday already and I’m all discombobulated. However, having another weekend now is a good thing, since I’m unreasonably tired. Maybe it’s just the soporific hum of my computer or the gray weather, but I have a serious case of the yawns.
In less lethargic news, my office is now the source of big canine entertainment. For Christmas, my aunt gave me a dog clock that barks on every hour. It’s pretty amusing. However, what’s even more amusing is the *dogs’* reaction to the dog clock.
I have the clock sitting on my desk. Every hour, the clock woofs. All four hounds come over and stare at the clock while it woofs. The clock finishes woofing, but the hounds continue to stare. One dog (Cami, the small white neurotic dog) also feels compelled to squeak nervously and play bow at the clock when she gets really fired up.
So, it’s been a couple of weeks now of living with the dog clock and I keep thinking that the dogs will get used to it. However, Cami is convinced that there’s another dog in there, so the entertainment continues…
