I’m having a serious TGIF moment. The week got off to a bad start and I felt like I spent the rest of it trying to catch up. I had an enormous magazine deadline, which (fortunately) I did actually make. But things weren’t looking good yesterday, since I’d had three days of non-stop phone calls and meetings. It felt like I got more phone calls in those three days than I normally get in a month. It was like everyone I’ve talked to in the last few months suddenly woke up. And if I’m talking on the phone, I’m not editing. It wasn’t pretty.
In any case, the other side effect of huge deadlines, meetings, and phone calls is that my office has turned into such a disaster area, I can barely stand to be in it. The piles of paper and other detritus feel like they are closing in on me.
As Sheryl Crow said, "all I want to do is have some fun. I have a feeling, I’m not the only one."
In that spirit, I have big plans to go goof off this weekend. After wee bit of work in the morning, I plan to venture out in the big world with a friend and do lots of puttering around, far, far from anything even remotely related to computers.
