Today I’d like to talk about some of the less pleasant aspects of running a weekly ezine. Every weekend, I go through the e-mail bounces that occur as a natural result of sending out Logical Tips.
After sending out the ezine, I get fascinating replies like "unknown user" or "mailbox full" back at me. When I see these, I unsubscribe folks from Logical Tips. Unfortunately, that means sometimes people get unsubscribed when they really don’t want to be unsubscribed.
So if you ever get an e-mail back from us that says you’ve been unsubscribed, yes, that was me. It’s not personal. Probably, it means that there was some glitch with the Internet and you didn’t get Logical Tips. If you don’t get it, I figure you don’t want it, and I unsubscribe you.
If you do want to keep receiving LogicalTips, it’s really easy to go back and resubscribe yourself. Just go to the web site at http://www.logicaltips.com and click the Subscribe link. Type in your e-mail address twice and click Submit. And the following Friday, you’ll get a brand, spanky new issue.
In other news, after my article on Windows power-saving features, a reader wrote in about how much money using those features had saved him. Apparently, the combination of a lot of computers (7) along with high energy rates (16.5 cents/kilowatt hour) means that he was able to save $40 off his electric bill by enabling the power management settings.
Hey, forty bucks is real money! That’s mighty impressive, I say 🙂
