Lest anyone think that I am one of those people who never have computer problems, let me disavow you of that notion right now. This morning, I went to turn on my computer and was greeted by the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Most Windows users know what that is. Or if you don’t, rest assured, someday you will. Basically, Windows decided it had a fatal exception error and barfed out.
So, I booted into Safe Mode and ran a complete Norton AntiVirus scan. Either I know more people who have had virus problems lately or there have been a rash of new viruses. I don’t know. But a virus was my first thought, so I went with it. While Norton did its thing, I went off and had some breakfast.
While I was happily consuming an apple, strange noises were heard below in the downstairs hallway. Cami the white dog decided that it was time for a yellow urka gurka hurl event. Most dog owners know what that is. Or if you don’t, rest assured, someday you will. So, Cami got that out of her system. But Tika, the gold dog, never one to be outdone, decided to follow suit and yakked up her contribution to the hallway heave fest.
After I cleaned up the hallway, I went back to my computer. (Breakfast was definitely over.) After some fun times deleting temp files and running Scandisk, my computer seems okay.
James pointed out that a morning where when two dogs and one computer barfs probably does not bode well for the rest of the day. All hounds and computers are now fine, but all I can say is that it’s a good thing we’re heading into a three-day weekend 🙂
