Recently, I’ve had a couple of people complain that they don’t like Internet Explorer 7. I confess I’m not a big fan either. I haven’t loaded it on my main computer, but at some point my laptop automatically updated to it, so I have used it enough to discover I don’t like it. If you really hate IE 7, you can get rid of it. This page from Microsoft is the FAQ for IE 7.

Basically, you get rid of it more or less like you remove any other piece of software.
1. Choose Start|Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Click Show Updates.
3. Now look through the list and look for Internet Explorer 7.
4. Click Change/Remove
Internet Explorer 6 should be restored automatically. If you don’t see the IE7 in the list, be sure that you have hidden files and folders enabled. (In Control Panel, click Folder Options, and in the View tab, make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is enabled.) If you still are having problems, you can try the IE uninstaller command. Choose Start|Run and in the run box, type:
%windir%ie7spuninstspuninst.exe
If IE 6 isn’t restored, you may need to find your Windows CD and get it from there. As you might expect, you can’t download it easily from Microsoft, since they’ll just tell you there’s a new version.
