Okay, it’s time to divulge an itty bitty secret. We missed out on the horrible North Idaho weather that descended on the first day of "Spring" (and we do use that term loosely). Why? Because we were enjoying tropical breezes in Hawaii. Last weekend we returned from two weeks of vacation on Kauai and Molokai.
But I bet you couldn’t tell, since we prewrote this e-zine. We took our laptop with us through the endless airport security checkpoints, but it was worth it. While sipping tropical beverages, we were able to send out CC-Tips on the appointed day. Before we left, we preloaded the CC-Tips articles into the archive site (www.cc-tips.com). Because we use our LEI Publication Manager software to run the site, all we had to do was click a little "Hide from Public" check box, so the content wouldn’t appear on the site until we wanted it to.
Then when I sent out the e-zine (again while sipping my tropical beverage) all I had to do was remove ONE checkmark and change the "current issue" on the site to the new one. It took about 15 seconds. The CC-Tips site also feeds content into the Computor Companion (www.computorcompanion.com) and Logical Expressions (www.logicalexpressions.com) sites, so the article feeds updated automatically as well.
All in all it was a very relaxing vacation. Thanks to the LEI Publication Manager and a little planning, I didn’t have to do any real work at all. Which was very, very good.
