The word of the week is SNOW. (In all capital letters because there’s a whole lot of it.) We are currently bringing this issue of CC Tips to you via generator power. We hope that our friends at the electrical cooperative will head up this way soon and fix the problem, so our feeble little generator can have a rest.
It been snowing for days now and it’s still snowing. Here are the stats. We have 24 inches of snow on the ground and we’ve received all but 2 inches of it since Tuesday. Thus, in three days, it has snowed 22 inches. It snowed 3 inches on Wednesday, 13.5 inches on Thursday, and 5 inches so far today. It should come as no surprise that the local ski area opened today. Their web site now has a web cam on it, so you can watch the snow in North Idaho yourself at http://www.schweitzer.com.
In more nerdy news, I’ve been working on getting the new Computor Companion up on the web site. This issue has quite a bit of graphic design-y stuff in it. We have an article on photo editing, one on creating Web graphics and one on how to create a quickie brochure in Word. Weather permitting, it should go online early next week.
On a more personal note, one of our dogs had surgery this week. So Leto the large white dog came home with an Elizabethan collar (or e-collar) to prevent him from licking his wound. For those who don’t know, an e-collar is one of those big plastic cone thingies that goes around the dog’s neck. So, Leto had to wear his e-collar last night and today. He’s really mad about it. In fact, he’s staring at me even now. Because Leto is a large dog, with his e-collar, he looks like a giant satellite dish. James said now when Leto looks lovingly at me, it’s Radar Love.
What weekend would be complete without a reference to an ancient Golden Earring tune?
