For the past few days, the weather outside has been beyond dismal. On Halloween, the weather turned. Since then, it has been by turns freezing cold, snowy, icy, and slushy. It’s like we went from Indian summer to winter in one week.
Most people I’ve talked to seem to be a little cranky about this instant switch from fall to winter. The only one who is pleased about it is our wooly white dog Cami. The first snow is the source of great joy for her, and this week she got to do one of her most favorite things: the snow roll.
When Cami sees snow, she feels compelled to burrow her snout into it and then flip onto her side and roll around on her back. We call this process, the snow roll. I’m sure it has a lot to do with her sled dog heritage, but Cami is one snow-loving hound. She’s so completely overjoyed that it’s hard not to smile as you watch her.
So when I am grumpy and cold, I can take comfort in the fact that at least someone in the household is enjoying the foul weather.
